Are Combat skills too difficult?

So after chatting with a few hookers players it seems that there are murmurs that the combats are too difficult. Personally I think combats should be a given, the trades are where the difficulty should lie. It at least gives a new player a sense of accomplishment and hooks them in to invest time in the trade skills. Anyway, cast your vote. I just want to see if anyone else feels the same way.
